The Tradition of Organ Construction in Ostheim vor der Rhön

Organ construction in Ostheim can look back on a 400-year tradition. In the past, not only did the people of Ostheim pay great attention to their church organ – between 1619 and 1738 they allowed themselves not less than four completely new instruments – but in the town itself several renowned organ makers worked.

From these, firms still active today grew up and can trace their roots back over 200 years. The products of these Ostheim works are found today not only in the region, but also everywhere else in Germany!

The Museum of Organ Construction has existed for more than 10 years and is part of this tradition which has shaped Ostheim.
